WATCH: We abseiled off Croke Park today for the ISPCC, and you can do it too

Alan Loughnane

It’s quite a ways up…

Today we had the wonderful opportunity to abseil off Croke Park for ISPCC Childline and to say it was a cool experience would be doing it a dramatic disservice… it was absolutely class.

Garry Carroll and myself took part on behalf of JOE.ie and with the help of some experienced abseilers, we managed to make the drop successfully and without any incidents.

Although, Garry did beat me in the race to the bottom, he’s like a monkey on the rope…

We did it in preparation for the ISPCC Abseil, which will take place on Saturday 1 and Sunday 2, October 2016.

This is open to members of the public to abseil off Croke Park for charity, with all proceeds from your adventure going towards the ISPCC.

If you’re interested in taking part you can sign up here, with participants asked to pay a deposit of €50 and fundraise a minimum of €200 before the abseil in October.

Come on, tell us this doesn’t look like great craic…
