Fernando Torres had a pretty eventful game this evening as he scored, fell flat on his face and got a bloody nose, then missed a penalty.

If there's one thing you can say about Torres, it's that he's got a way of making an impact on a game, be it for better or worse, and in this game it's hard to say which way he's gone.
He slotted home nicely after a beautiful flick from Eden Hazard left him with a good opportunity, and he started to play with a little bit more confidence.
That confidence saw him take the ball on more and try to go past defenders, and when he hit the ground in the box, it looked like it could have been a penalty, but the referee awarded nothing.
In the process of falling however, the Spaniard did a full faceplant and seemed to get a kick in the head, leaving him with a bloody nose for his troubles, which he wasn't shy in pointing out to the referee.

Minutes later, Hazard was taken down in the area, and it was Torres who stepped up to take the resulting spot kick, but he completed what was becoming a very strange night for him by putting the penalty into the stands.
Still, his goal proved decisive as Chelsea won 3-1, putting them through to the next round, so it was a decent night's work that could have been even better for the out of form striker.
