Inter Milan manager Rafa Benitez is now officially Inter Milan's ex-manager.
Speculation has been rife that Benitez, who is currently holidaying in England, has been on his way out. Well, it seems he won't need to rush back to Italy's style capital - unless it's to pick up his P45 as he is no longer the boss at Internazionale.
Inter president Massimo Moratti officially sacked the 50-year-old Spaniard as coach after their poor start to the season, according to Sky Sports.
Prior to his sacking, Benitez had railed against the Inter Milan hierarchy for failing to support him during the transfer window.
Jose Mourinho's replacement at the helm of the Champions League champs had also been dissatisfied that the players have not shown him the respect a manager expects.
Rafa took over from the Special One in the summer, making the move from a seriously below par Liverpool in June 2010.
During his stewardship of the club, Inter have dropped 13 points off AC Milan in the Serie A. In recent times the team have been beset by injuries but did manage to win the FIFA Club World Cup earlier this month.
Inter Milan's season is due to recommence early in January, without Benitez at the helm.
