Fernando Torres' torrid time at Stamford Bridge may only last twelve months, as Serie A champions AC Milan are reportedly eyeing a swap move for the Spaniard.
With one goal from 23 appearence, you'd think no clubs would even think twice about signing Fernando Torres right now. However, he still has Serie A suitors.
Reports have surfaced that Chelsea may be open to flogging Torres in a player exchange deal with Brazilian Robinho. Before his move to Manchester City Robinho was hours away from joining the Blues - with the club even advertising jerseys bearing his name in their official store before the transfer fell through.
Chelsea's main target is believed to be Alexandre Pato, but the youngster is the boyfriend of Milan's director Barbara Berlusconi (yes, the daughter of Silvio) so he looks set to stay put. If a 'flop swap' between Torres and Robinho occurs, it is likely to be a player-plus-cash deal, as Torres cost Chelsea £50m in comparison to Milan's £15m acquisition of Robinho.
Torres' position at Chelsea was recently under threat when a translated interview appeared on his official website in which the player appeared to accuse his teammates of being "old" and "slow". He may have a point but he's hardly one to be pointing fingers, right?
