JOE would never encourage violence on or off the pitch but we understand that football is a game where passions and tempers run high. Bastia striker Brandao has been hit with a six-month ban after this headbutt on PSG's Italian midfielder Thiago Motta during the Parisians 2-0 win back in August. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XuUPWzJFVn4 Clip via - iSport AllDay The video shows the veteran striker, in his debut season with a club managed by the great Claude Makelele, appearing to headbutt his opponent in an incident which left Motta with a broken nose. It's clearly a pre-meditated assault because the striker was waiting for Motta in the tunnel, but what makes the incident worse is Brandao's cowardly reaction when he runs away. The striker will now miss Bastia's next 21 Ligue 1 matches after making just two appearances for the club following his summer switch from Saint-Étienne.
