The first trailer has dropped for Jennifer Lawrence’s new comedy, No Hard Feelings, in which she tries to seduce an “unf***able” 19-year-old.
In the coming-of-age comedy, Lawrence plays out-of-work Uber driver Maddie. She answers an online advert from two parents looking for someone to date their son, animal shelter volunteer Percy – played by High School Musical: The Musical: The Series‘ Andrew Barth Feldman – before he heads off to college.
“We’ve just been so worried about our son, we want you to get to know him. Don’t just date him,” says Percy’s mum (Laura Benanti), while Percy’s fabulously haired father (Matthew Broderick) chips in: “But also date him… date him hard.”
In case you hadn’t worked out the subtext, they want Lawrence’s character to have sex with their son.
The rest of the trailer then follows Maddie attempting to seduce Percy, with outrageous results.
There’s jokes involving ‘touching his wiener’ in reference to the dog in his arms, her trying to convince him to skinny dip, and a mix-up between iced tea and its Long Island equivalent.
In addition to Lawrence and Feldman, the cast includes Natalie Morales, Hasan Minhaj, Kyle Mooney, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Scott MacArthur and more.
The film is directed and co-written by Bad Teacher helmer Gene Stupnitsky.
‘No Hard Feelings’ opens in theatres in the US on June 23, with an Irish release date yet to be set.
