The time has finally come. We’re ready for you to show us what you’ve got.
Are you a musical act or singer who has what it takes to make it big? If so, we really, really, REALLY want to hear from you.
With thanks to Le Crunch Apples from France, we are asking the nation to send in a recording of them performing a cover of their favourite song and tweet it to us using #LeCrunchSongs.
The 5 finalists will perform their cover song live to a packed house at Whelan’s on March 9th 2016 with the winner walking away with €2,000 and the four runners-up getting €125 for their troubles.
All you’ve got to do to be in with a chance of winning all this is record your best cover version on either MP3 or MP4 and send it to us.
There are three ways to send your entry to us –
- Email it to [email protected] with your file attached or a link to your Youtube video included in the body of the email. You must also send your contact details in the email.
- Contact JOE.ie or Her.ie via Facebook message, or publicly on your Facebook page with the hashtag #LeCrunchSongs – in this instance you will be contacted for your contact details should you be shortlisted as a semi-finalist.
- Via Twitter, post your video publicly using the hashtag #LeCrunchSongs.
10 semi-finalists will be profiled in an editorial on JOE and Her.ie where there will be a public vote to vote for your favourite act. The top 2 acts from the reader’s vote and the top 3 acts chosen by our adjudicators will then perform on March 9th in Whelan’s.
The 10 semi-finalists will be required to travel to Dublin in advance of the final to be profiled onsite in a video interview –You must be available for this if you are a semi-finalist.
The overall winner will be featured in a special feature on JOE.ie and Her.ie as well as receiving their prize.
Pretty epic, eh?
Judges on the night include founder of Indiependence Shane Dunne, JOE.ie editor Paddy McKenna and Ham Sandwich’s lead singer Niamh Farrell.
So not only can you win an amazing prize, you can also network with some of the biggest names in Irish music.
