England rugby player Mike Tindall and the Queen’s granddaughter Zara Phillips have announced their engagement.
The pair have not yet set a date for their wedding but it is expected to take place next summer or autumn.
Zara is the second Royal to get set to tie the knot following her first cousin's, Prince William, engagement to Kate Middleton recently.
Tindall, the England and Gloucester outside centre, presented the daughter of Princess Anne with a solitaire diamond ring.
“I am delighted that Zara has agreed to marry me,” Tindall said.
“We are both very excited about the next stage of our lives together.”
Zara, who is 12th in line to the throne and hopes to represent Great Britain as an equestrian at the 2012 Olympics, accepted Tindall’s proposal at the couple’s home in Gloucestershire on Monday evening.
