15th time lucky? Cork motorist fails driving test 14 times in a row

Fifteenth time lucky?

Oisin Collins

Here’s a strange one…

The last time we reported on Irish motorist Raymond Heffernan he had failed his driving test for the twelfth consecutive time (we must have missed a failed test).

However, this time we’re featuring Ray because he failed his test yet again, this time for the fourteenth time in a row.

According to the Irish Examiner, Mr Heffernan had received two grade 3 faults in his latest examination which took place back in March this year.

For those not in the know, just one grade 3 fault means an automatic disqualification in your exam.

Speaking about the driving test in court, the test examiner, Mr Olar, said: “[One grade 3 fault] was for not giving way at a roundabout to a car coming from the right. It was a lady in a blue car and she had to put on her brakes and beep for a long time.”

Mr Heffernan said: “[Mr Olar] was never in any danger in my car. My car did not break down or anything. Stop this vendetta against me. I mean to say, common sense, it is not rocket science.”

According to Mr Heffernan he has been driving in Ireland and the UK for the past 47 years and has never once caused an accident.

Will it be fifteenth time lucky? Watch this space…
