5 people you’re sure to meet at every Irish barbecue

Sizzle...

JOE

We’ve been smelling a lot of damp charcoal lately and that can only mean one thing: the Irish summer barbecue season is upon us.

OK, the weather might not always be on our side, but we still love to have an oul’ alfresco grilling every now and again.

With thanks to the guys at BIC, we’ve compiled a list of the 5 people who’ll always be knocking around when there’s a barbecue.

The control freak

This person looks after the barbecue like they’re protecting state secrets. If you think you’re getting near those cooking utensils… think again.

The vegetarian

We’ve nothing against vegetarians… it’s just that tofu burgers are notoriously hard to grill.

The over-eater

This person eats their own food, then starts to glance at everyone elses. A staple of every Irish bbq.

The drinker

Their motto is ‘eating is cheating’ and they’re far more interested in your boxed wine than your burgers.

The ‘how did you get here?’

Nobody really knows who invited this person, yet they’re there, in the corner, looking all shifty and stuff.

creep

So there you have it, five people you’re likely to meet at every Irish barbecue. Now, whose turn is it to buy the burgers?
