50 rides, a gigantic cinema and some of Hollywood’s biggest films. Yes!

While the majority of us have absolutely have no idea what the hell we’ll be doing 5 hours from now, never mind 5 years, it’s time to add a trip to Dartford, Kent into your calendar for 2022 because a Paramount theme park that’s boasting 50 rides is set to open.

Yeah, in your face 2022 World Cup in Qatar! For the cost of £3.5 billion, Kuwaiti European Holdings plan on building an 872-acre park that will also feature a 2,000-seat cinema.

Given that Paramount are the studio that produced some of Hollywood’s biggest blockbusters like Iron Man, Star Trek, Transformers, Titanic, Mission Impossible and Top Gun, it’s fair to say that there will be plenty of great rides.

Can you imagine a Top Gun one? We feel the need for speed!

As of now, all areas within the park will be themed around Paramount films. These include, Starfleet Command (Star Trek), a  cartoon circus, Action Square, Port Paramount and Entertainment City.

It’s estimated that the park will attract 40,000 visitors per day and create up to 33,000 jobs in the area.

Aside from the major Hollywood films, the theme park will also feature attractions from BBC Worldwide shows, along with Aardman Animations.

The project is still in the planning stage, but it’s hoped that the government will approve its construction with work starting in 2019.

Here are some of the prototype designs.
