A Waterford driver had to be rescued by the AA after playing Pokémon GO

Tony Cuddihy

The perils of playing the world’s favourite augmented reality game.

The AA were forced to come to the rescue of a driver in Waterford whose battery had run down while they were out chasing Pokémon.

What an age we live in.

In a blog post on the AA’s website, it’s revealed how the person in question lost track of time in the hunt to catch them all, leaving their lights and radio on and the car soon ran out of juice.

‘Thankfully for the driver their breakdown was dealt with by the AA before Team Rocket found them, meaning they left with all their Pokémon and a quick fix for their car,’ the post reads.

You have to admire the honesty here…
