Airplane forced to make emergency landing when a passenger refused to stop farting

Rory Cashin

This is plane disgusting.

What is it about travelling on planes that causes some people to complete forget to act like normal, civilised adults?

If it isn’t taking off your shoes and socks and putting your feet wherever you want, then it is using teeny toilet cubicles to get their freak on in.

This story takes the smelly cake, however.

As reported in the International Business Times, a flight from Dubai to Amsterdam had to be diverted and was forced to make an emergency landing in Vienna.

Two passengers on board requested that another passenger stop breaking wind, but he refused, and continued to break wind for the majority of the flight time.

More passengers and staff on board the flight asked the passenger to stop farting, until eventually a fight broke out between the first two initial passengers who complained and the farter in question.

At this point, the pilot requested an emergency landing, claiming that the “passengers were on a rampage” due to “a passenger suffering from wind who was not attempting to restrain himself”.

Upon arriving at Vienna, Austrian police boarded with four police dogs (those poor dogs!), and escorted four people off the plane, but there were no arrests made.

This is where we would put in a joke about “wind beneath your wings”, but we’re going to rise above it.

Get it? Rise above it…?
