We're getting hungry thinking about it

Ice cream guzzlers.

Who doesn’t love an ice cream on a hot day? Apparently no one because the whole of Ireland is out buying ice creams to help them cope with the very welcome sunny weather.

A quarter of a million ice creams and more than two ice creams per second are expected to be sold every day during the warm weather, according to HB.

Popular ice creams include HB Cornettos, which we are told fly out of the freezer, with 24,000 being sold across the country on a hot day.

Next in line is the delicious Icebergers, which sell more than 19,000 on a summer day and the new Cornetto Taco and relaunched 80s classic Freaky Foot, all of which are also peaking interest.

Wafer icecreams

Nigel Thomson, Marketing Manager, HB Ice Cream Ireland said: “With the heat taking hold, we’ve seen a huge increase in ice cream sales over the last week and with the help of our retailers and distributors, we’re ensuring to ensure that freezers around the country are stocked and ready to help consumers beat the heat.

“For the last two summers, we’ve been lucky enough to get great stretches of amazing weather, with Ireland typically enjoying one quarter of a million ice creams per day in the months of July and August.”

That’s a mammoth amount of ice cream, lets hope the weather holds up so we get to eat it all!
