PICS: Ad for apartment share on Daft shows person asleep in bed being advertised for rent

"Someone's been sleeping in my bed."

Conor Heneghan

Rent

We assume they’ll have moved out by the time the new tenants arrive.

Such is the demand for rental accommodation in Dublin these days – as was highlighted in a revealing RTÉ Investigates documentary last week – that potential tenants can’t always be choosy when looking for a place to live.

Those advertising accommodation for rent aren’t always choosy about how they present said accommodation either, as one ad for an apartment share in Clondalkin in Dublin on Daft.ie illustrates.

As you’ll see in the ad, there’s nothing particularly wrong with the apartment in question, although if you’re going to be paying €900 a month for a room with two single beds, you might expect a picture of said room not to include one of those beds being occupied by someone fast asleep.

We’re sure the sleeping beauty in the picture will have moved out by the time the room is available next Sunday, November 12 and that any awkward “someone’s sleeping in my bed” Goldilocks-type situation will be avoided.

Cheers to JP O’Sullivan (not the person in the bed) for sending this our way. If you have something you would like to share with us, send it to [email protected] or on Facebook and Twitter.
