Apple Pay is a safer, faster and easier way to make payments.

We’re big fans of anything that makes life that little bit easier.

Our day-to-day tasks are never as straightforward as we’d like them to be and, if the last year has taught us anything, it’s that everyday life is not always so simple either.

With that in mind, any changes that can help us get through the days quicker and more efficiently are surely worth making and, if you’re looking to make your day-to-day life that little bit easier, we’ve just got the answer.

In November, permanent tsb announced that customers can use Apple Pay to make secure, touch-free payments without a €50 limit and it’s a game changer when it comes to shopping in-store, online or in-app.

From quicker, more convenient payments to added security and safety, there’s a lot of ways that Apple Pay can change your daily life for the better.

It’s quick and convenient

Why is that whenever you’re in a hurry, shop queues always seem to move that little bit slower?

With Apple Pay, you can speed up those coffee-runs or lunch buys as it allows for touch-free payments using Face ID, Touch ID or Passcode authorisation. It speeds up online and in-app purchases too as customers can check out quickly without having to key in their card details for every transaction which, to be honest, is a godsend.

It can be used for in-store, online and in-app purchases

There’s nothing worse than finding yourself mid-shop, basket filled to the brim, only to realise your wallet is out in the car or, worse, sitting at home in yesterday’s coat pocket. Don’t worry, it happens to the best of us.

Apple Pay can be pretty handy in situations like these as in-store payments can be made with all iPhone models later than the iPhone 6, wherever you see the Apple Pay logo. The Apple Watch can also be used for in-store purchases on the go, while online payments are possible on the iPad and Mac as well.

You’ll find a full list of compatible devices here.

Payments are secure and safe

Apple Pay is safe and secure as payments can be authorised with Touch ID, Face ID or a Passcode and your Visa Card details are never sent to the merchant.

No additional usage fees or spending limits

This one is pretty self-explanatory but, given how annoying those hidden expenses and spending  limits can be, we felt it was worth mentioning.

There are no additional fees for permanent tsb customers that use Apple Pay making it ideal for daily use. It’s convenient for bigger expenses too as, unlike contactless card payments, it allows customers to make in-store purchases that exceed €50.

Set-up is quick and easy

With so many benefits, it’s easy to assume that the set-up process is a complicated one, but it actually looks pretty straightforward.

You can get set up on Apple Pay from the comfort of your own home quickly through the permanent tsb mobile banking app. For added convenience, customers can also add their permanent tsb Visa Card through their device’s Apple Wallet. If you need any extra help getting set up, permanent tsb have created some quick and easy demos which you can watch here.

Added convenience that only takes a minute to set up? Sounds like a win-win to us…
