The internet is rife with Area 51 memes – here’s why

area 51

Well over half a million people are planning on storming Area 51, according to a Facebook group.

If ever you were in any doubt about how bizarre the internet is, you should not be anymore.

At the time of writing, 672,500 people have joined a Facebook group entitled “Storm Area 51, They Can’t Stop All of Us”, and have set a date where they plan to show up at the area.

Area 51, if you’re not aware, is a highly classified remote detachment, which is commonly associated with UFOs.

Not exactly the sort of place you’d want to show up at, alongside half a million people.

The details of the event are fairly simple. They read: “We will all meet up at the Area 51 Alien Center tourist attraction and coordinate our entry. If we naruto run, we can move faster than their bullets. Lets see them aliens.”

Hard to argue with logic like that.

If you ask us, and this is just our opinion, we think that showing up at one of the most highly confidential places in the world, in a massive group, is probably a bad idea.

But like we say, that’s just us.

Some of the memes that have emerged from the Facebook group are absolutely hilarious though. Take a look:

You’re all absolutely bonkers.
