NASA scientists to attend astronomy festival in Galway this weekend

There will be NASA scientists in attendance and special screenings of space documentaries.

Running from Friday 24 to Sunday 26 January, the Galway Astronomy Club are hosting a special festival for lovers of stargazing this weekend.

Astrofest 2020 will be take place in the Harbour Hotel and is open for all levels of interests and all ages of participants.

The festival will kick off with a special screening of the multi-award winning documentary Apollo 11 in the Eye Cinema.

The rest of the weekend will see a host of guests, including NASA scientist Julie McEnery and Cherryvalley Observatory founder Mike Foylan, discussing all topics of astronomy.

Tickets for non-club members for the weekend are €25, while children under the age of 16 can enter for free.
