Attention Back to the Future fans! DeLorean cars are coming back

Colm Boohig

The legendary car will actually be coming Back to the Future.

It was made iconic by the Back to the Future films, but DeLoreans actually stopped being made in 1983, when the vehicle was manufactured by the Delorean Motor Company in Northern Ireland.

These days, the DeLorean factory is owned by Stephen Wynne in Texas, who reckons he has enough stock leftover to make about 300 DeLorean cars.

Wynne has been telling Click2Houston just how happy he is with the news:

“It’s fantastic. It is a game-changer for us. We’ve been wanting this to happen,” he said.

“That was a green light to go back into production. That was prohibited. It was against the law to do it.”

In case you’re interested in having your very own model, the new batch of DeLorean cars are set to be launched in 2017 and will cost upwards of €90,000.

… Yeah, we’ll just watch the movies again and live through Marty and the Doc, we think.
