Here’s why you should never use emojis in your work emails

Do you tend to rely on emojis to punctuate your communication? Well, that might be all well and good for casual chat with your mates, but emojis are frown-emoji’d upon by Irish bosses.

A studied of employers and employees in Ireland and the UK, conducted by Monster, has revealed that using emojis in work communication make you look less valuable and less credible.

According to the Independent, Monster’s managing director said “It’s always best to avoid using emojis with senior staff and people you don’t know very well.

If you don’t have a comfortable relationship with someone, you don’t want to do something that could annoy them.”

The survey revealed that over a quarter of workers use emojis to praise good work, while 22% of respondents use them to clear up the tone of the message.
