AUDIO: This American woman paid €2,000 for U2 tickets that weren’t even there

This is a killer

The most expensive concert you’ve never been to.

Brooke Bradley paid $2,000 to see U2 in the 3Arena… Only to be told this week that those tickets were no longer available. The real kicker? Brooke didn’t find out until she traveled all the way here from her native United States.

Ouch.

Speaking to Joe Duffy on Liveline today, Brooke Bradley described being given the run around by the company she bought the tickets from, a subsidiary of Ticketmaster called Get Me In.

Brooke was repeatedly reassured by the company that the tickets, which she paid the hefty price for back in September, were safe… All the way up until she arrived in Ireland – a vacation that saw her splurge on flights to Ireland and a hotel in Dublin.

Get Me In then emailed Brooke to tell her that they hope she ‘wasn’t too disappointed’ and that she will be refunded for her tickets – all of which is pretty paltry compensation for a transatlantic trip and losing the chance to see her favourite band in their hometown.

UPDATE: Ticketmaster have been in touch with JOE to say that the matter was sorted this afternoon and that the lady will pick up her U2 tickets at the venue on Saturday night.
