Did your town make the cut?
Much like the debate about where to find the best pint of Guinness, Irish people are often keen to vouch for their hometown as the most beautiful part of the land.
There are, however, a number of towns that regularly pop up in discussions about the most attractive towns in Ireland and a number of them feature in an article by Cork native Julie Daunt on the ten most beautiful towns in Ireland for Culture Trip, a travel media company with global offices in London, New York and Tel Aviv.
The article featured on Culture Trip in February, but the inclusion of Carlingford in Louth came to the attention of the Dundalk Democrat this week and they were understandably happy to highlight such a glowing recommendation for such a gorgeous town on the Cooley Peninsula.
Two towns from Julie’s native Cork made the list, as well as locations in Waterford, Kerry, Sligo, Louth, Donegal, Mayo, Offaly and Wicklow.
You can check out the list of towns below and a more detailed explanation of why they made the list on Culture Trip here.
