Disgusting…

There are few things that will ruin an evening out with your friends quicker than discovering you’re supping pints from a dirty glass.

It’s akin to the moment you discover a hair in your mouth and remove it to see that it’s not one of yours.

Now, there’s different stages of dirty glasses like an obvious one with dirt clearly visible or lipstick around the rim of the glass.

Then there’s the less visible kind with traces of detergent and more worryingly, grease, on the glasses. Grease needs a combination of soap and hot water in order to be removed from the surface.

The first clue that your glass isn’t clean is the appearance of bubbles along the side of the glass when the beer is poured.

Like this…

Another sign that your glass isn’t fully clean is if the head of the beer disappears very quickly.

Similarly, when you drink from your glass, foam should cling to the side of the glass as the level of the beer falls.

These three things are a sign that your glass is not as spotless as it needs to be in order for your to enjoy your pint to the maximum.
