Britain’s decision to leave the EU will undoubtedly make it harder for British citizens to travel outside of the country, meaning that there has been a huge surge of interest in how British citizens can claim an Irish passport.
Google Trends data shows there was a +100% spike in the past 24 hours for people searching for information regarding Irish passport applications – mostly by those in Northern Ireland.
The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade have already provided a detailed look at the criterion, steps and attributes that are required, but it appears that Brexit has already had a noticeable effect.
