Ben & Jerry’s would consider weed-infused ice-cream if cannabis was legalised

A half-baked idea?

Eating ice cream is something that cannabis smokers would usually do when they’ve got the munchies (or so we’ve been told) but they might be soon be able to feel the effects of the drug while eating ice-cream in the near future.

According to The Independent, the two founders of hugely popular ice-cream brand Ben and Jerry’s have admitted that they would be open to the idea of cannabis-infused ice-cream if the drug was made completely legal.

Asked a question to that end during a HuffPost Live interview, co-founder Ben Cohen said: “Makes sense to me.”

Jerry Greenfield was a little more hesitant, but he did admit that both he and Cohen “have had previous experiences with substances”.

Cannabis-infused ice-cream is already available for people with medical marijuana prescriptions in California through the Cannabis Creamery company, but a freely-available Ben and Jerry’s product seems a long way off and wouldn’t realistically be a possibility until cannabis was legal in more locations than it is currently.

That said, if it became available, we’re sure it would be widely popular, but that’s a big spliff if.
