The 76-year-old is calling it a day.

Legendary comedian Billy Connolly has announced that he is retiring from live stand-up performances.

Connolly is responsible for some of the most iconic stand-up moments ever, and will definitely be remembered as an all-time great.

In a recent interview with Radio Times, the Scotsman acknowledged that his touring days were over and also discussed everything from Trump, to cannabis, to Brexit.

He spoke about Trump, and compared him to Adolf Hitler, saying: “His rise is part of an international thing.”

“It’s happening everywhere. I think it’s called fascism. They can call it white nationalism if they like, or alt-right, but it’s that Hitlerian lie-telling.”

Connolly himself lives in America at the moment, residing in Florida.

He also discussed how he tried smoking marijuana in an attempt to help with his Parkinson’s disease, which he has been living with for a number of years.

He said: “I just got bomb happy. Just stoned. It was quite pleasant, but I don’t want to do that every day. I was never very good with marijuana.

“I always got too stoned and it always lasted too long.

“I stopped all that about 30 years ago, when I stopped drinking. I had no time for it.”
