Great news as Bosco announces comeback and nationwide tour of Ireland

Rudi Kinsella

Bosco

At long last, finally some good news.

Ireland has been crying out for something to unite the country.

A symbol of togetherness, solidarity, hope.

And by the looks of it, we’ve gotten one.

Bosco is back, and he’s going on tour.

The iconic puppet is returning for a number of shows throughout the country for his 40th anniversary. And yes, he is a he.

The news was announced on Bosco’s official Facebook page on Sunday night.

The tour kicks off in Ennis on 20 October and runs right through until 23 March. And if you’re worried about missing him, don’t worry, there are loads of venues announced and more to come.

Have a look at all of the announced venues so far.

In case you’re wondering why a puppet is having a nationwide tour, let’s take a look back at just some of his credentials:

  • Outselling U2 with his LP in 1983
  • Learning how to communicate with the Lemurs at Dublin Zoo in 1986
  • Performing at the Electric Picnic Festival in Stradbally Hall
  • Appearing on the Late Late Toy Show in 2013

Not bad for a puppet…

If you’re interested in buying tickets, you can get them on the official Bosco website here, but you’d want to be fast.
