Brian Dowling says trolls are obsessed with trying to take his kids away from him

“It’s kind of alarming.”

Presenter Brian Dowling has opened up about the pressure he is facing as trolls continue to target him and his family.

Dowling said that he fears people are now ‘obsessed’ with taking his daughters away from him.

“People [were] saying that we’d been reported and that our kids need to be forcibly removed from our home,” he told The Irish Mirror.

“I just find it so odd that people are obsessed with it. It’s kind of alarming.”

“I recently said to Arthur that since our children have been born, I do feel like people are obsessed with trying to take them away from me. It’s a very odd feeling,” he confessed.

Brian also reflected on the heartbreak he faced when a priest refused to christen his daughter Blu.

Arthur had touched on the upsetting moment on Instagram, but Brian recently went into more detail about it during the launch of Virgin Media’s autumn schedule.

He said that he was unavailable to attend the appointment, but said he was shocked by the priest’s behaviour.

“Arthur was very polite. I just couldn’t believe in this day and age — considering where the Catholic Church is and everything that we know about it — that they are so unwelcoming of two people that just want to get their daughter christened,” he said.

Brian admitted Arthur handled the situation well, but he would’ve been “more aggressive in my responses.”

The dad-of-two said the priest was fixated on Aoife, Brian’s sister and their surrogate, being Blake and Blu’s mother.

“Just his whole ignorance in being obsessed with Arthur and Aoife… and Aoife being our daughter’s mother,” the dad added.

The level of trolling the dads are facing, especially since Blu was born, is shocking to see.
