Calling all petrol-heads! Are you a fan of supercars and super-rare sports cars? Or do you just love the sound of a V8 and the smell of petrol in the morning? Then you better check this out…
That’s right motoring fans. It’s that time of year again as the Irish Cannonball event is gearing up to take to the streets of Ireland for the next three days.
The event, in association with Carzone.ie, consists of three action packed days taking in some of Ireland’s most scenic routes and it all kicks off in Dublin on Friday September 12. You can find out the exact details of the route over here – you never know, the supercar convoy could pass right by your front door! How cool would that be?
Day 1 will see the 160 car convoy driving from Dublin to Sligo; Day 2 will see the cars making their way from Sligo to Galway; Finally, Day 3 will see the cars heading from Galway to Tullamore. So they’re certainly making the rounds around the country…
Cannonball Ireland and Carzone.ie promise to feature some of the most incredible machines to ever roll off a production line and you can count yourself lucky that we’re now living in what is considered to be the ‘Age of the Supercar’ as there will be everything from high-end Ferraris to Lamborghinis, as well as everything in between… even the electric BMW i8 (pictured below).
There will also be a rake of ‘classic supercars’ from the 70s, 80s and 90s that helped to pave the way for the kind of supercar we know and love today… you know, the kind that are incredibly fast and mind-blowingly powerful. Keep an eye out for the two extremely happy supercar drivers who managed to win our hugely popular Carzone.ie competition, bagging themselves a brilliant prize that will see them getting the chance to drive a supercar of their choice.
