A Christmas-themed wine and cheese festival is coming to Dublin

Paul Moore

Wine and Cheese

This will put you in gouda form for the Christmas season.

While traditionalists leave out a mince pie for Santa and a few carrots for his reindeers, posher households might dish out the merlot and camembert. Who knows what the rich do?

Anyway, regardless of what’s left out for Santa after he comes down the chimney, we can all agree that when it comes to Christmas food, a decent cheese board is a must for every household.

If you love wine and cheese and can’t wait until Christmas, you’ll be delighted to know that the Eatyard Wine & Cheese Festival will be held in Dublin’s Jam Park during November and December. As you would expect, it’s Christmas-themed too.

Un-brielievable.

Yep, that news might just make some people melt. Praise cheesus!

Ok, we’re all gouda with the puns now.

After the huge success of this summer’s Wine & Cheese Festival at Iveagh Gardens, the festival is returning with a wintry version that’s bound to be very popular.

At Jam Park, a multi-level adults playground and event space in Swords, weekend wine and cheese sessions will cost €15 (plus booking fee). Group bookings are also available (table of eight for €100 plus booking fee), and more ticketing options are available here.

A ticket entitles patrons to wine on arrival, some festive cheesy treats and an evening’s worth of entertainment.

What does this involve? Well, there’s going to be live music, carolling and a limbo competition too.

There will also be wine and cheese pop-up bars and shops, as well as the Brewtonic Winter Warmer bar for mulled drinks.

The successful Eatyard Cheese shop will also return to bring patrons plenty of cheesy goodness – cheese boards, fondue, mac and cheese, cheeseburgers and more.

Depending on the type of ticket that you purchase, there’s also additional festivities which include the likes of Christmas Karaoke, game packages for the retro arcade and crazy golf.

The Winter Wine & Cheese Festival takes place from 21 November until 14 December at Jam Park, Swords, Dublin.
