And he’s being accompanied by some famous faces.

Cillian Murphy is heading to Borris in Carlow from 8-10 June for the Festival of Writing and Ideas 2018.

He will join the author of The Handmaid’s Tale Margaret Atwood and song-writing legend Bob Geldof, as well as some of the country’s most established writers and artists, in what will surely be an enjoyable and insightful weekend.

Murphy will be alongside Enda Walsh and Max Porter there to talk about the play Grief is the Thing with Feathers. Murphy starred in the play in March of this year, which was directed by Walsh and originally written by Porter.

Murphy’s debut film was in Disco Pigs, an adaptation of Enda Walsh’s play directed by Kirsten Sheridan.

Ibrahim Halawa, Liz Nugent, Una Mulally, Emmet Kirwan and Fintan O’Toole are just some of the other names that will be in attendance at the festival.
