Coca-Cola are to replace one of their main drinks with a new product

Close to "The Real thing"?

Nooooo!

It’s a sad day – Coca-Cola has announced that it is dropping Coke Zero.

The decision came as a result of poor sales in the low-calorie drink.

But it’s not necessarily all bad news. They have another reason for scrapping the drink – to make way for a new version that has been in development for five years.

Coke No Sugar will hit the shelves as an alternative to the other Coke drinks.

In order to introduce a smooth transition between Coke Zero and Coke No Sugar, both drinks will be available for purchase at the same time with Coke Zero eventually being phased out.

Roberto Mercadé, the President of Coca-Cola in Australia, told The Sun:

“We think it’s the closest we have ever come to the classic taste of Coca-Cola. We wanted the experience of drinking Coca-Cola No Sugar to be as close as possible to ‘The Real Thing’.

That’s no small task when you consider the original has been cherished by consumers for more than a century.”

We’re looking forward to trying it.
