Many of you will have done so ages ago and others will leave it until the last minute, but we’d wager that a majority of homes in Ireland will have a decorated Christmas tree in place less than two weeks out from the big day.
And we’d go even further to say that few, if any, of those decorated Christmas trees will be as kinky as one belonging to a grandmother from Cork, who didn’t know what she was letting herself in for when purchasing what she thought were baubles for the tree in Dunnes Stores recently.
It was only during a visit to her house by her niece, Alex Bermingham, when the penny dropped, as Alex pointed out that what her granny had thought were baubles were actually lavender glitter G-strings…

In fairness, the fact that they are G-strings only becomes apparent when the baubles are opened, but it must have made for an interesting conversation when they were purchased, with Alex’s granny telling her: “Jesus Al yer man in the shop must have thought I was very kinky sure I bought six of them.”
It could happen to the best of us.
