Cork VW Transporter owner behind brilliant DoneDeal ad gets the iPad he always wanted

And he gets to keep the Transporter too, so it's good news all around.

You may well have come across it on the site last week, but if you didn’t we featured one of the best DoneDeal ads we’ve ever come across, an ad posted by Padraic Corcoran in an effort to sell his beloved Volkswagen Transporter Van in order to make enough money to buy the iPad he always wanted. “The nephew had one, they’re some job in fairness,” wrote Padraic of the iPad in the ad and we can’t help but agree. “She’s in great running order but ‘The Man’ says I need some paperwork to put her on the road. She needs a bit of love to get her through the DOE but I may as well be looking at a cow’s arse as trying to fix her myself and I haven’t a notion of paying a mechanic to do it,” said Padraic of the ’96 Transporter and while he might have been hopeful that someone might throw him a few quid for the vehicle, he could never have dreamed how it would actually turn out in the end. Enter Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles and Blackwater Motors in Cork, who not only delivered the iPad Padraic was looking for all along, but, nice guys that they are, allowed him to keep the Transporter as well and gave it a full valet while they were at it. “The advert made us all laugh, but we didn’t like to see the van go for the sake of an iPad so between ourselves and Blackwater Motors in Cork, we decided to allow Padraig to keep a hold of his van and get his iPad,” said Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles Ireland Brand Director Alan Bateson.
