The councillor went on to say that he believes that euthanasia will likely follow abortion, should it be introduced.
An independent councillor from County Leitrim has stated that he believes the abolition of the Eighth Amendment will lead to sex slavery becoming “normalised”.
Councillor Des Guckian said in an email to constituents that “Hitler would be very happy with the proposal to abolish the Eighth.”
He also said that the repealing of the amendment would lead to girls being forced to have sex “on demand.”
Speaking to Ocean FM on Tuesday, Guckian defended the contents of his email, claiming he was “glad” to stand over his word.
“I’m glad to stand over whatever I’ve put into that email – it’s time people stood up. What we’re facing in Ireland is abortion on demand,” he said.
“What we’ve got is the Eighth Amendment which over the years has protected the lives of thousands and thousands of the unborn.”
When asked what was meant by the introduction of abortion leading to the “normalisation” of sex slavery in Ireland, Guckian replied:
“What I mean by it is this that the values that people always have held will be totally devalued and youngsters – I mean very young – will be asked and will be expected to indulge themselves in sex at an age when they’re just not able for that kind of thing.”
The councillor went on to say that euthanasia will likely follow if abortion is introduced.
Several months ago, the Leitrim Councillor sparked controversy when he used the n-word repeatedly during a local meeting in the Carrick-on-Shannon Municipal.
Guckian made the comments during a discussion on the repair of by-road and lanes in the district.
“We are certainly not n—-rs like in the eyes of the south of the United States, that is long gone”, he said, according to the Letrim Observer.
When the racial slur was criticised by his fellow Councillors, Guckian stuck to his guns, doubled down on his unacceptable language and responded: “You are remarkably sensitive. It’s a total red herring.”
