That’s how it’s done…
A Tweet from the verified Department of Australia Twitter account has taken off on social media over the past number of days.
It’s in response to a Donald Trump tweet about Australia from 2011 where he said: “Australia is a beautiful country with terrific people who love America.”

But then the Department of Australia responded with this…
Talk about a burn…
But alas, no matter how much we wish this was the real Twitter account of The Department of Australia, it is in fact not connected with the Australian government.
It’s a satirical page set up by Leslie Nassar which describes itself as “hand-crafted, artisanal satire made from the finest Google image searches.”
But the fact that the page was verified managed to trick a whole lot of people into believing it was legitimately connected with the Australian government.
