The roller skater was honoured for his “daredevil” descent.

The Mayor of Derry has officially commemorated the man whose impressive roller skating/pint holding skills have gone viral.

In the clip, which can be watched below, professional skater Joe Hill was recorded celebrating Halloween by gliding down a steep Derry street in the rain in a disco costume with ease.

All the more impressive though was Hill’s ability not to spill a drop of the Guinness held tightly in his hand which he sipped as he shot down the hill.

Cheered on by onlookers in the video and praised by people on social media for his exploits, Hill has now been officially honoured by Derry Mayor Graham Warke.

An image of the pair meeting was shared to Warke’s social media accounts.

In the picture, Hill is back in his Saturday Night Fever-esque get up and the two can be seen both clutching a pint of the black stuff.

“Brilliant to welcome the man of the moment Joe Hill to the Parlour following his daredevil roller skate down Waterloo Street on Sunday night,” the Mayor wrote.

“Joe confirmed to me that his pint remained intact following his descent in testing conditions.”
