This is the drink bartenders don’t want you to order

JOE

Have you had one of these?

There’s nothing like a night out on the tiles with a drink or two at the weekend. Most people will opt for a glass of wine, a bottle of beer or a cocktail, but you might want to rethink your choice of drink when you hear what this barman has to say.

Peter Madrigal, who works in the West Hollywood bar, has revealed to Bravo After Hours the one drink that bartenders hate you ordering, and unfortunately it’s one of the most popular.

He said that they hate it when someone asks for a mojito.

The rum based cocktail is a firm favourite for a lot of people and isn’t as sweet as other cocktails so it’s no surprise that it’s ordered so often.

The reason for the dislike is down to the time it takes them to make it. With a crowd building at the bar, the last thing they want to do is spend extra time making one drink. The drink contains white rum, sugar, lime juice, soda water, and mint and is one of the hardest cocktails to make.

Peter said, “Let’s say you’re at a club and you ask for a mojito. Your bartender’s going to look at you like, “What the f*** is your problem?” So don’t be asking for a mojito there.”

He does add that it’s all about what time of day you’re ordering it and suggests some acceptable times saying, “That’s a lot of work. It’s something you should not get unless you’re at a day club or a restaurant. Don’t get that at a nightclub.”
