Is this just how we live now?
Is Ireland a tropical island now, is that it?
Well, no, not exactly... especially since it would appear that the entire
Northern Hemisphere is suffering from the same fate as we are.
And it looks very much set to continue.
Met Éireann extended their weather warning into the middle of next week, but their latest forecast actually predicts the temperatures to rise again by the end of next week, stating that "Friday /Saturday/ Sunday: Little change but temperatures increasing slightly with daily maximum values around 27 or 28 degrees."
Not quite the 30+ situation we were in last week, but still... pretty hot.
Additionally, the folks at
Midland Weather Channel have an even more dire prediction, reminding everyone that there is a Status Yellow Drought warning, as well as a Status Red Wildfire warning currently in place:
"Temperatures will climb once more through tomorrow and the early days on next week, with highs of between 24-28 degrees Celsius.
"Please do exercise caution over the course of the weekend if you enter a high-risk forest or peatland fire area. A status red warning remains in place as a number of wildfires continue to blaze across the region.
"Drought conditions will intensify over the coming week with no rainfall expected for at least another week to ten days."
