There’s a free crisp festival coming to Dublin this week

Sensations crisps

Sounds good to us…

Ireland is one of few places in the world that could get away with having an entire theme park devoted to crisps.

Tayto Park proves that we have some sort of an obsession with the snacks, and if that wasn’t enough evidence, this surely is.

There’s an actual crisp festival taking place in Dublin this Thursday, and entry is free.

The event is taking place at the Eatyard on South Richmond St, right next to the Bernard Shaw. It begins on Thursday, and lasts until Sunday night. A four-day crisp festival!

Among the events taking place, there will be a debate that hopefully settles the ultimate question that has divided Irish people for years – tayto or king. It could get heated…

As well as that, there will be crisp inspired cocktails… Cheese and onion pina colada anyone?

And obviously, there will just be loads of different types of crisps.

As we said, the festival is free to attend, but you can buy advanced tickets for €10 which means you also get a can and packet of crisps on arrival and €10 worth of Eatyard vouchers, the currency in Eatyard.

For more information, as well as a full list of what’s going on at the festival, you can visit the official website here.
