The Hyatt Centric are celebrating their upcoming launch with a series of street art installations, featuring some of the area’s best known and most eccentric characters
You might have noticed some distinctive artwork that has popped up in Dublin City Centre recently.
We can reveal the artists behind these mini masterpieces were none other than the team at Ireland’s first Hyatt hotel- Hyatt Centric The Liberties.

Supporting the Community
Hyatt Centric are doing all they can to immerse themselves in the history and culture of Dublin’s most iconic neighbourhood.
As well as using fresh, locally sourced goods on their restaurant menu, Hyatt have joined forces with local distilleries Teelings, Pearse Lyons and Dublin Liberties Distilleries to create a one-of-a-kind whiskey wall and unique Golden Triangle whiskey masterclass within the hotel.
Even the artwork they’ve displayed is a celebration of local history. It commemorates four well-known characters from The Liberties’ past, who were fondly known as Bang Bang, Johnny Forty Coats, Jembo No Toes and Stony Pockets.

Each piece of art has a QR code, which will bring passersby to videos of local historian Liz Gillis giving a quick insight in to the stories behind these characters and their lives in The Liberties.
The Hyatt’s aim? For guests to arrive as strangers, and leave as locals. Kickstart this journey now by checking out their site hyattdublinstories.ie .
