Over €500,000 of illegal vodka seized at Dublin Port

Somebody was evidently planning a pretty major party.

On Tuesday (12 April), Revenue officers at Dublin Port discovered and seized 13,500 litres vodka. According to a statement issued today, the smuggled alcohol has an estimated retail value of €510,000, representing a loss to the exchequer of €326,781.

The discovery was made when officers investigated an unattended trailer that had arrived from Belgium.

Investigations into the illegal alcohol are now underway.

Since 1 January 2020, over 265,000 litres of alcohol with a retail value in excess of €1,000,000 has been seized in Dublin Port.
