Attendees will be handed a packet of crisps and a can on arrival.

Dublin food-vendor market Eatyard has paired up with Guinness’ Open Gate Brewery to bring about Ireland’s first ever crisp festival this June.

The experimental beer and crisp-curated weekend will be running from Thursday 14 – Sunday 17 June across Eatyard and The Bernard Shaw on South Richmond Street, Portobello.

The four-day crisp homage is set to bring together old favourites and new flavours as extensive crisp and beer menus are promised. Open Gate Brewery is providing three of their beers available across the weekend, including the Open Gate Citra IPA, the Open Gate Pilsner and the non-alcoholic lager Open Gate Pure Brew.

Attendees will be handed a packet of crisps and a can on arrival, with the option of a Bottomless Crunch (their take on brunch) of Open Gate Brewery Beers and endless Tayto crisps for €10.

Retro packets of Tayto and Burger Bites are also to be expected, expertly matched by the Brewtonic and Open Gate Brewery crew with beers to match. Expect a curated Crisp Tasting Menu, crisp eating competitions, blind crisp tasting and a fervent debate on whether Tayto or King are truly the best.

The festival will also feature a number of pop-ups, including a Brennans Bread Crisp Sandwich Station, O’Donnell’s Crisps fairground games and a cheeky chipper, Hunky Dorys style.

Regular Eatyard vendors will also be getting involved, with different specials created especially for the weekend.

A crisp-inspired art exhibition, entitled ‘Packets’, will also be available to view during the day in The Bernard Shaw, would you believe.

Eatyard Crisp Festival takes place at Eatyard and The Bernard Shaw on Thursday 14 – Sunday 17 June.
