PIC: Irish man creates the most honest automatic ‘out of office’ email ever

At least he's being honest.

JOE

“I have a feeling I will be very sick.”

The majority of us will have created the classic out of office email for when we are not in work to inform potential emailers that we will get back to them at our earliest convience.

The emails are normally standard enough and are along the lines of ‘out of the office until Thursday. If urgent please forward your message to…’

Done deal.

However, this Irish man from Limerick had a different idea for an automatic reply.

The lucky fella is heading to the Indiependence Festival down in Cork this weekend and wasn’t going sugar coating that fact to anyone…

The automatic reply reads:

“Out of office, going on a right awl bender all weekend with a bag of cans with the lads and the missus.

“I can’t guarantee I will be reachable on my phone but if anyone wants me or is up for the crack you will find me at indiependence [festival].

“Will be back in office on Tuesday 8 August hopefully, depending if I survive the weekend.

“I will respond to any emails probably later on in the week next week as I have a feeling I will be very sick.

“Thanks. Best regards, James.”

James Kelly told JOE that: “In my workplace, I have to create an out of office email for when I am on leave, in case somebody within the company is looking for me.”

When asked about why he chose to create this sort of email, he said: “After all, life is all about having the crack.”

JOE also asked Kelly whether or not his bosses would mind that he created this unique out of office reply to which he said: “I’m sure I will find out next week.”

Cheers to James Kelly for sending this our way. Got a story for JOE? Hit us up on Facebook or Twitter, send it to our WhatsApp number 087-4001102 or mail [email protected].
