There is an inner warrior in all of us which is why a weekend taking on the muddy, physical and exhilarating challenge of the 10km Turf Warrior Challenge is now such a popular event.
The tarzan swing, Everest climbs, tunnels of love and other obstacles are just some of the challenges you will have to overcome during a fantastic weekend in the west of Ireland.
The Turf Warrior event, which many consider to be the real highlight of the adventure calendar, is held on the most challenging and rugged terrain Ireland has to offer, on the banks of Killary Fjord, Leenane, Co. Galway. The event is a mental and physical challenge but is also heaps of fun – push yourself to your limits but just keep thinking about the epic fancy dress party and free beer later that day! Discounts are available for groups of 10 or more, the bigger the group the better the discount!
There is FREE ENTRY to the themed party at Killary Adventure Company for all warriors, as well as a FREE BEER on arrival, so you can get together with your fellow warriors, swap stories and re-live the ups and downs of a day on the battlefield after you’ve scrubbed the mud from your ears, eyes and every other body part.
Food is provided at the finish line to replenish all that used energy, as is a good hosing down and lots of warm places to hang out to get the circulation going again; you also get the coolest technical t-shirt to take home as a reminder of your dirty weekend in Connemara!
So try something truly different this November, bring friends, colleagues or choose to be a lone warrior and come to the west for the best craic to be found this year!
Here is a taste of the action from last year.
