Event to find Ireland's most eligible bachelor is looking for even more contestants

If you know any single lads that fancy it, give them a shout.

With 2019 coming to a close, JOE hopes that every single one of our readers has a fantastic New Year's celebration and an even better 2020.

If you're married, great. If you're seeing someone, great. If you're single, great.

However, if you do happen to be single and a bit of an extrovert, the Westmeath Bachelor Competition & Ball 2020 might be just the thing for you.

As mentioned previously, the new event is looking to become the Midlands version of the Rose of Tralee. In order to do so, the organisers are hoping to secure entrants from every county in Ireland.

As you can see in the video below, they've even received applications from Canada, so they're more than happy to take contestants that are living abroad too.

Ok, so what are the "rules?"

The entrants will be whittled down to 12 of the finest eligible bachelors who will battle it out for the top prize of €2,000 worth of shopping in Mullingar, a holiday worth €1,000, €500 for their chosen charity, and the signature Westmeath Bachelor Trophy piece along with the title of Westmeath Bachelor 2020.

If you're a female and are looking to take part in the festivities, the organisers are also seeking 12 female chaperones to accompany the male finalists. The best dressed ladies of those selected will also receive a prize.

The event takes place on Friday, 13 March at The Mullingar Park Hotel.

Essentially, the black tie ball is hoping to find Ireland's most eligible bachelor while simultaneously boosting the areas tourist appeal as a destination for the St. Patrick's Day festivities.

The judging panel to find Ireland's most eligible bachelor will consist of Louis Walsh, Anne Doyle, Brian Dowling and Tara Farrell.

More information can be found here and the best of luck to those that enter the contest.
