Everyone is saying that Kanye West’s new Yeezy Powerphase trainers are basically just Reebok Classics

Whatever you think about Kanye West, at least he’s an original innovator, right?

The reason why he so perplexes so many and divides opinion so markedly is because he is absolutely and completely one of a kind and is always pushing boundaries. He’s not boring, he’s certainly never predictable, and can in no way be described as derivative or same-y.

Except it looks like he potentially can, and seemingly is. As the rapper and businessman gets ready to launch his ‘Yeezy Powerphase’ shoes via adidas Originals, many people have noticed the very same thing about what West describes as his ‘affordable’ sneaker for the masses (at just over £100 (approximately €115) a pair).

Take a look for yourself…

Look familiar? Many are pointing out that the trainer looks remarkably similar to old-school Reebok trainers, that are available for around £30/40 (€35/46) if you look hard enough online.

Does the Yeezy Powerhouse have a startlingly similar design to the Reebok Classic? It’s not for us to say, but this lot have certainly made up their minds…
