If there’s one thing in the kitchen you’ll need to keep clean, it’s the kitchen sink. Here’s how to clean it out with just five minutes of your time.

If you clean your dishes in the sink then you’ll know that a dirty greasy sink will just make matters worse. So here’s how to clean it out in just five minutes (you may have wait a little longer).

What you need:

Sink plug
Grease fighting dish soap
Scouring pad
Eucalyptus oil

What to do:

Step 1: Put the plug in the sink

First things first. Put the plug into the sink along with a healthy dose of grease fighting detergent. You can’t really use too much, but be carful not to cause a suds overdose.

Step 2: Scrub your sink

With the detergent that’s in the sink, get a scouring pad and give it a good scrub. This will remove any grease that’s stuck to the sides and in the hard to reach places.

Step 3: Add water

Add some boiling water and an extra bit of detergent and fill until about 3/4 of the way full. Also, bang in some eucalyptus oil into the water as this will also help to tackle the grease and grime – and also make things smell better. Leave the water in the sink for about twenty minutes, so that the soap and eat away at the grease. Time for a cuppa tea.

Step 4: Unplug the stopper

Your final step is to remove the stopper and give the sink one finally scrub down, getting rid of any dirt in the process. Dry off the sink with a clean towel and your sink should be as good as new.
