PIC: Pub in Louth gears up for the Fleadh Cheoil with massive delivery of beer kegs

These will take some drinking by locals and visitors alike in Drogheda.

“Fail to prepare, prepare to fail” was a phrase famously uttered by Roy Keane amidst the most notorious episode in the history of Irish sport and it’s advice being taken on board by a pub in Drogheda ahead of Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann later this month.

The Fleadh will run from Sunday, 12 August, until Sunday, 19 August and with thousands of music fans set to descend on the town during those seven days, Gleesons pub in Drogheda is taking no chances when it comes to keeping its customers well-watered.

The pub posted a picture of a quite comprehensive delivery of beer kegs on its Facebook page on Wednesday, a delivery that looks fit to withstand the rigours of an August Bank Holiday weekend and the festival a week later.

Beginning of the madness indeed.

It’s going to take quite a few people to work through the contents of a delivery that size so if you do find yourself enjoying a pint or two during the Fleadh later this month, be sure to do so responsibly.
