The lads are on the ball, as ever.
Just last week Leaving Cert students got their CAO offers. Thousands of teenagers around the country were offered a college course, and the next few years of those teenagers lives will be defined by whether they click ‘yes’ or ‘no’.
Obviously, they can change courses at any point, drop-out, defer a year, and do basically anything with themselves, but it would be silly to deny the importance of picking a college course.
Most of these students will have attended their career guidance counsellor in school and will have been told what they should do, based on their skills and interests.
Foil, Arms and Hog offer a far more realistic spin on the career guidance counsellor, and it’s spot on.
The first lad informs his counsellor that he doesn’t know what he wants to do, but he “hates kids”.
So naturally, he’s advised to become a PE teacher.
